The £5 Lottery Club is a fundraising initiative run by Hope for a Child to raise funds for its work with families in east Africa, as well as for other charities benefiting children in Guernsey.

Hope for a Child is committed to protecting your privacy.

We do not collect personally identifying information about you when you visit our site unless you choose to provide such information to us. Providing such information is strictly voluntary. This policy is your guide to how we will handle information we learn about you from your visit to our website.

The most important thing we want you to know is that we will never sell or exchange your personal information with other organisations for marketing purposes. We take your privacy seriously.

Sending us an email

You may choose to send us personally identifying information in an email. We will only use this information to respond to you. Your email may be forwarded to other Hope for a Child employees who are in a better position to deal with your enquiry.

Web forms

You may choose to send us personally identifying information by signing up to The £5 Lottery Club, which involves providing us with your full name and contact details. We will use this information to contact you regarding your membership details, any prizes won and payment queries.

If you opted-in to receive emails about other Hope for a Child fundraising activities and projects, you can opt-out of receiving these emails at any time – see the ‘Opt-out’ section below.

Information sharing

We will only use any information you choose to share with us within Hope for a Child, for the purposes for which it was obtained.

We use Mailchimp, an email management platform, to collect and manage some personal data like your email address and name. By agreeing to this Privacy Policy you are giving us a general written authorisation to do so.

How long we keep your information for

We will hold your personal information on our system for as long as is necessary. We store contact information of our £5 Lottery Club members for a maximum of 2 years once their membership has been canceled or has expired.

If you tell us you do not consent to receive our marketing, we will keep a record of your contact details to enable us to remove you from any contact lists now and in the future.

Cookies

A cookie is a file which is stored on your computer and which enables the website to recognise your computer (they cannot in themselves be used to identify you). You have a choice about whether you want to receive information about the progress of our projects in Malawi and other fundraising activities. We will not use your personal information for marketing purposes if you have indicated that you do not wish to be contacted.
